Camden Business Grants Webinar Puts Operators Into Funding Readiness Tonight

Camden's Small Business Month program turns to grant applications on Monday evening, with a free online session aimed at helping local operators understand funding opportunities and write stronger applications.

The How to Apply for Business Grants webinar is scheduled for Monday 12 October from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Camden Council says the session is designed to help business owners identify suitable grants, develop a project rationale, prepare budgets and supporting documents, understand assessment language, improve funding readiness and manage acquittals and reporting.

The facilitator is Keith Whelan, known as The Grants Guy, a grants and funding specialist who works with businesses, government agencies and community organisations. Camden's program notes say he has consulted across Australia and Ireland and delivers grant-writing professional development for groups including Business NSW, Regional Development Australia and chambers of commerce.

The session sits inside Camden's wider Small Business Month program, which includes workshops, webinars, networking events, markets, information sessions and business-focused activities. The council is also running an I AM CAMDEN Small Business Campaign highlighting ten local businesses connected to this year's theme, Seizing Opportunity.

For south-west Sydney operators, the practical value is in timing. October's small-business calendar can be broad, but this session narrows the question to funding readiness: what a business wants to do, why it matters, what it costs and how it will report back if a grant is awarded.
