North Sydney's small-business network is gathering at The Landing in Vic X Tower this afternoon for an expo designed to put operators closer to the people and services that can help them grow. The North Sydney Business Expo runs from 1:30pm to 4:30pm at Level 2, 155 Miller Street.
The event is organised by North Sydney Business Chamber with the NSW Small Business Commissioner, Service NSW and North Sydney Council. Its format is practical rather than ceremonial: more than 25 exhibitors, industry and government advice, and a chance for local businesses to make direct connections without leaving the district.
For a small operator, the useful question is often not whether support exists, but whether it is easy to find at the point a problem arrives. The expo brings together agencies, education providers and support organisations in one place, with a welcome address from North Sydney Mayor Zoe Baker also on the program.
The gathering comes during NSW Small Business Month and gives North Sydney's owner-operators a local point of contact in a period when costs, compliance and the search for staff can each take attention away from running the business itself. Entry is free, although the organisers recommend registering for updates and session announcements.
From the desk. Sydney and Surrounds is a practical local newsroom for Greater Sydney. If there is something in your suburb that deserves more attention, we would like to hear about it.
